Ritha Pierre is a zealous social activist, attorney, entrepreneur, radio personality, producer, and CEO of Black Ivy Media. Native to Brooklyn, NY, she always had an incredible passion for serving the community and empowering the masses. Ritha is an alumna of St. John’s University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government & Politics with a minor in Africana Studies. Her passion for representing the community and advocating for justice and human rights inspired her to pursue a Juris Doctor Degree from Fordham University School of Law. Following this, Ritha went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Bioethics from Columbia University and is an avid seeker of knowledge who is always on the lookout for an opportunity to achieve furtherance in life.

Before embarking on her journey as a Media Personality, Ritha Pierre relished a successful career as an attorney. She has had the luxury to serve in the capacities of Assistant District Attorney & Associate General Counsel and specializes in prosecuting domestic violence, elder abuse cases, & general crimes. Ritha has also represented the members of the labor union and served as a staunch advocate striving to inspire a positive change. As a community activist, she has spearheaded the boards of several community grassroots organizations in Brooklyn and is a former president of the Haitian American Lawyers Association of New York.

From her days at St. John’s University, Ritha Pierre has been actively involved in the media scene and served as the editorial writer for her school’s newspaper, The Torch. Upon her graduation, she laid the foundation of The Antisocial Socialite Blog under the pen name of Madame Esquire. In the year 2017, Ritha went on to formulate FREEda Women NYC – A Fashion Brand helping women express their exclusive style and flair through sophisticated and elegant jewelry & accessories. She fashioned this brand solely to inspire women to cultivate the seeds of confidence and self-belief and strive for excellence in every facet of life. She also produced and hosted Freeda’s World Podcast – A podcast shining a light on the issues faced by women of color within and outside the workplace and helping them navigate their way to success through powerful strategies.

Over the years, Ritha Pierre has helped countless women take control of their lives through different forms of digital media. In 2018, she joined forces with WJMS Radio to host and produce her show According to RP. The show focuses on empowering the black community and touches every integral aspect of life, entertainment, and community from Hip-Hop Beefs to Social Issues. Ritha aims to leverage her years of advocacy experience and passion for empowering the masses to help people of color connect, interact, and flourish in exceptional ways. These aspirations led to the formulation of Black Ivy Media in 2020 – A platform providing culturally-relevant media content to inform, educate, entertain, and inspire through podcasts, op-eds, panel discussions, and insightful short films.

Ritha Pierre continues to serve as the advocate for women empowerment and aspires to devote her life to the advancement and progression of the black community. She aims to serve as a beacon of hope for people who are striving for guidance, direction, and excellence in life. Ritha relishes empowering black people with the resources and knowledge needed to tackle the adversities of life and achieve happiness, prosperity, and success.
